Additional Info About conwynesco
Bio: Relatives embrace the common duckweed, skunk cabbage, calla lily and Jack-in-the-pulpit. During the first stage, carrion beetles drawn by the stench of death and human-like body temperatures, creep contained in the vase-like structure and unknowingly deposit pollen on the receptive female flowers. During the second stage, the construction begins to break down, the "fragrance" fades and the insects start to go out. As they leave, the beetles rub up in opposition to the pollen within the male flowers and at the moment are ready to hold the pollen to a close-by feminine flower. Only a handful of those unusual Indonesian crops bloom each year at public gardens worldwide. SDBG is the only recognized garden in the region that grows this exotic species.
